How to Install WordPress Easily
Here is a step-by-step instructions on how to install WordPress easily on your website using the cPanel. Images are also provided to facilitate better understanding of the installation process.
First, log in to your cPanel.
cPanel is an online control panel provided by most webhosting services to website owners to enable them to manage their websites easily through a user-friendly graphical interface. As a website owner, you login in to your cPanel using a username and password which are provided to you by your webhost. You will usually find them within the Welcome email which you will receive after purchasing a webhosting plan.
Scroll down till you see the Softaculous Apps Installer. Here you will find WordPress under Scripts. Click the WordPress image.
This will bring you to the WordPress page. Click the Install Now button.
This will bring you to the Setup page. Choose the version you want to install. You may just choose the latest version of WordPress.
Choose Protocol. If your site has SSL, then you need to choose the HTTPS protocol (https://www.). Otherwise, just choose the HTTP protocol (http://www.).
Choose the domain where you want to install WordPress.
In the Directory field, if you want your site’s main page or homepage to contain the blog, leave it BLANK (empty). But if you want to install WordPress to a subfolder of your site, just type in the name of the subfolder.
Under Site Settings, provide a name for your WordPress blog. Then, write a short description of your blog in the next field. These can be changed later on.
In the Admin Account, provide a username as the Admin of your blog. You will also use this to log on to the blog. You will also need to provide a strong password. Don’t forget to write down the username and password so you don’t forget them. You will also need to provide a valid email address. This email address is important. This is where you will receive notifications and security messages from your wordpress blog.
Next, choose a language.
You can skip the Select Plugins and the Advanced Options.
The last step will be choosing a blog theme. Select a theme that you think is appropriate to the type of blog that you are building. However, selecting a theme at this point is optional. You can choose not to select any, and a default theme would be installed instead. You can then select any theme of your choosing once your WordPress blog is installed.
Next, click the Install button at the bottom.
Depending on the quality of your Internet connection, the installation process usually just takes no more than several seconds. Once it is done, you will see the message “Congratulations, the software was installed successfully.” It will also show you the log-in URL of your newly-created blog.
Now you can log in to your fresh WordPress blog using the username and password you have just provided.
